2 festive gifts – 1 luxury package: The launch of ‘Natural Scotland’ hampers 2013
The Champagne has been popped! Today, we launched our 2013 luxury festive hampers in tribute to Visit Scotland’s 2013 ‘Year of Natural Scotland’. But how did we set about creating that perfect gift for your friends, family or clients?
It certainly helped that when I sat down with our partners for this project, the supremely talented floral designer Nicole Dalby of Glasgow based ‘Flowers and Design’ that we were most definitely choosing from the same menu.
For starters we both wanted to create a unique collection that hadn’t been offered before; a fusion of fine foods and floral design, giving great value by presenting 2 gifts in 1 luxury package. In our festive range a fresh, highland inspired hand-made wreath accompanies our speciality food range.
For main course, it was necessary for us to continue to work with the products and producers we work with on a daily basis. For me it was about including small scale food producers we visit on our food tours; those who work in sustainable ways to preserve Scotland’s way of life. Nothing mass produced, artisan in nature the whole way. People and products like Mark Bush’s fresh and asparagus like Summer Harvest Rapeseed Oil or the sublime Bramble Vinegar produced from the soft fruit at John Sinclair’s Craigie’s Farm.
For dessert we wanted to use Scotland’s landscape as our inspiration and create a hamper that helps to protect the harmony of our rugged, romantic landscape and the environment. The glass oil and vinegar bottles are filled by Demijohn the world’s first liquid deli (and they are refillable too). The hamper is presented in a hand-made wooden styled apple crate and we use recyclable materials where we can. It seemed fitting that we based our inspiration on the Visit Scotland focus year for the country ‘Natural Scotland’.
And with that we reached today. The launch. Whether you choose from our ready-made options (Festive Warm Wishes or Luxury Greetings) or design your own bespoke option we are sure you will take pleasure from choosing the stunning, natural and sustainable way to make someone’s day.
